Trademark applications can be filed electronically through the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office’s (“USPTO”) website using the USPTO’s Trademark Electronic Application System (“TEAS”). The USPTO’s website allows you to file using either TEAS or TEAS Plus (the difference between these two will be explained in a future blog post). Alternatively, you can file your trademark application by paper. However, there are several advantages to filing your trademark application electronically, including access to online help on the USPTO’s website, lower filing fees, validation of information provided in the application, and an immediate reply with your filing receipt.
